What is a "Kill-Buyer?"

“KILL-BUYERS” and “BUNCHER’S” are unscruplous people who act as middlemen for the $laughterhouses. These are the people that will outbid you at auction while you are trying to buy a cute little horse or pony for your granchild, these are the people that will answer FREE TO A GOOD HOME ads for your horse and will promice to provide a "forever loving home" to your beloved animal - and take him directly to $laughter. These are the people that CHOOSE to earn their living bringing horses, yes, even "good" horses, to $laughter as a way of life. They travel all over the country and keep 'kill-pens" or feedlots at various locations throughout the U.S., Canada & Mexico. These are the people that will keep seriously injured, sick and suffering horses alive that SHOULD BE, NEED TO BE euthanised RIGHT AWAY but keep them alive anyways and let them suffer because they know a horse must be alive and standing "on at least three legs" to go to $laughter. These are the people that realize and exploit the fact that there is a BIG demand abroad for horsemeat and BIG money to be made right here in the good ole' USA supplying that foreign demand. This list is by no means complete. Killbuyers are everywhere and could be living right next door to you! This is a list of the known killbuyers that have been identified through reliable sources. Avoid them like the plague they are!

This is not a complete list, and some on this list are not licensed buyers.

Mind your own business and use spell check... "Promice". Go back to school also.

Most Killer Buyers will sort through the horses they get before sending them to slaughter, I mean why would they send a good ridding horse to slaughter when they get more for it when they sell it for a ridding horse! A lot of people have a crippled horse but they can not afford to have it put down so they will sell it to a killer buyer, isn't that better then letting it suffer!! All im saying is everyone needs to get there facts straight before they start talking bad about "killer" buyers!!

Anonymous said...

There is not a good horse market at this time so they will not be able to sell the horses as "riding" horses. Too much work for scum like kill buyers.

Who cares if the list is not "complete"?! It is stated it isn't but at least there's a few names. I don't give a crap if they are licensed or not.

And for those who think horse slaughter is okay, I will tell you this, horses are being STOLEN AND MURDERED for horse meat, right out of their stalls! Get it? So the creeps who would like to make money on this, buy perfectly good possibly STOLEN horses at auctions and WE, the owners are frantically looking for our pet. Not right and they are very well aware of this fact, especially as they pretend they will provide a "good home" for a horse that someone cares about...liars & thiefs.

A horse that is injured should be PTS and not have to endure slaughter. It is not better to sell it to a kill buyer and not an accepatble solution.

We do not eat horse meat in the U.S.A , why do we allow slaughtering them? If you agree we should allow it, do you also feel it would be fine to start slaughtering dogs and export their meat to other countries who may be eating dogs? NO, we do not need to allow that and we shouldn't.

Stop justifying everything in the name of $$$!

prohorseslaughter said...

No, we don't eat horse meat in the USA, but we export it. Which means more revenue To one person, a horse is a pet, to another that horse may be how they make their living, ie rodeo, horse shows or SLAUGHTER. We slaughter cattle. What's the difference? The cow isn't your pet? If you don't want your pet slaughtered, keep it out of the sale. I would much rather see your pet feed a hungry person in France than suffering in your barn.

All for slaughtering horses !!!!!!! When dumbass people stop breeding all these nags maybe there won't be so many to slaughter.

Anonymous said...

About half of you people are so blind to what really goes on. Horse slaughter is illegal in the United States. We don't consume horse meat or export it. The problem of kill buyers is still around, however, as they will ship horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. Do your research before you talk about horse slaughter like you know something. You pro slaughter people especially. I bet all of you are the types of people who agree with abortion too. Killing innocent lives is what you are all about! Like someone else said, what if your dog was stolen, slaughtered, and eaten in Asia for dinner? Would you be okay with it? No.

And of course we slaughter cows... and pigs, and chickens, and so on. They are not pets, but that doesn't make it right for some people to say "keep your pet off the market". People have to sell their animals, and some people's animals are put up for auction after they die, or they can't care for them anymore so they are posessed by Animal Control. Either way, slaughtering of a companion animal is disgusting and should be illegal in all countries.

Pro horse slaughter
I have had pet cows and pigs and so on you can make anything a pet. I own horses and love to ride but I have no problem with an old broke down horse going to slaughter it is no different than sending a cow!!!

I have been a horse trader for 40 years in the state of Oklahoma and attended many a auction.People who take their horse to auction should know where they probably will end up.You dont go to the auction to buy your kid a horse taking the word of the owner who just wants a quick buck. The reality is if you got a good horse you dont have to take it to a auction,so dont be pissed if somebody like Jerry Wilkinson winds up with them.

All those who are proponents of horse slaughter and you feel so strongly about your position-why don't you have the balls to sign your real name? Mary Anne Hoban NJ

Horse Slaughter is inhumane and Kill buying should be illegal and punishable by prison time I mean at least 10 years in prison. This will eventually put a stop to this practice. I have contacted my Congressman Rep. Edward Markey one of the most powerful men in congress about this issue, and hopefully something will come of it. Horses should not be violently slaughtered, and kill buyers making profits off this. They should be transferred to rescue farms, or if they are put down, should be put down by euthanasia , not slaughtered in a painful way. this is wrong and the kill buyers need to be punished by prison time

Beware of a very dangerous kill buyer in Georgia.
Travis Ragsdale runs a profitable hay business in Georgia. http://www.haymart.org/
1735 Cochran Rd
Dallas GA 30132

He gets about 100 horses a month to send to slaughter and this past weekend, agreed to sell some of the slaughter bound horses for $450 each to individuals interested in riding horses. When they pulled up with trailers this weekend, one horse was terrified. After unsuccessfully 'calming' him with a tranq dart, he chased the horse with a team of 4-wheelers. The horse jumped a fence toward the highway. The KB then got in his truck and chased down the horse, shooting 3 times and killing him. This man is known to be dangerous.

Sebastian- I have been training and selling horses as a living. i am absolutly for the horse slaughtering buisness. with it the prices of our good ridable horses will go up. dont sell at an auction if your so concerned about it going to slaughter. there is no life for lame, or non ridable horses if all there doing is costing us more money.

It's disheartening to hear the kill-advocates defending their profitmaking schemes, as if horses are nothing more than inanimate objects presented to them for maximum exploitation. There's something seriously wrong with people like that, who not only lack all heart and mercy, but who ridicule any tendency to caring and kindness. And as for "Megan," the equine major who advocates for horse slaughter and advices us to "eat dick," she reminds me of someone: the ambitious child molester who is an education major. Megan, you're in terrific company!

For those of you readers who are in the business of blood money, I hope you find some kinder way to be in the world. Karma.

Although I would never want to eat horsemeat, and I don't want to see horses die, I'm not going to argue against people who do eat it. People in India don't eat cows, and keep them as pets the same way we keep horses.
However, that being said, I think that people should be informed if their horses are going to be murdered or not. If you sold your dog and found out that she was sold to an abused home or a puppy mill, you would feel like absolute shit for not knowing any better.
Both sides make a good point.

Anon you are a complete low life- go back to school? What degree is horse slaughterer fall under ? Butcher? Train and selling - your vocabulary is. Lame you are an exploiter - I hope you are exposed as a cruel trainer as well - typical coward " anonymous " what s wrong scared you might get blackballed? Horse slaughtering will be stopped because we are more than you-- sir - I use that term loosely - will have to go back to " school" ..... Because come hell or high water we ain't stopping til the fat lady sings And dances and you no longer make a buck on our horses. You are a sociopath

Just wondering- do you also think the noodling of the horses brain ? While its alive is humane? Or skinning it alive or gauging its eyes out so you can't see his soul? You are a pathetic waste of human skin jerk

Now you can take your cold sarcastic comment's and stick them up your butt.

Monkey see said...

Really! Read up on horse slaughter dummy! It is inhumane, period!

God help any horse that crosses your path. Really! Ride it, enjoy it, use it, then betray it when it is no longer of use to you. Destroy your horse in horrendous and horrid ways! Have you no compassion moron!

Monkey see said...

What are you saying cold hearted human?

Monkey see said...

Ditto!

Sue said...

Pro slaughter advocates - it's one thing not to know better, but knowing the suffering these animals endure and still advocating for the 'quick fix' is a reflection of a putrid soul.

Lack of compassion is a character trait that doesn't end with your attitude toward animals, it permeates all your relationships. You will pass it on to your own children, and you will be treated as you have taught them to treat others.

Look at the statistics; you are in the minority, and it is only a matter of time before advocates of cruelty become dinosaurs in a society moving toward the light.

For those who draw their beliefs from the bible:

Proverbs 12:10
Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.

I don't eat animal flesh, but I acknowledge and respect those who kill only to eat and do so respectfully, as the Native Americans. Commercial farming and slaughter shows no mercy, no respect and no compassion.

SHAME ON THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO CAUSE OTHERS TO SUFFER FOR YOUR BENEFIT.

I live in mi and drive by the killer buyer's place on a routine basis. The horses going to slaughter look very healthy with good body weight. They are out in all kind of weather. I have seen them being loaded and some are ponies and extremely young horses. I never see the horses eating hay. Drive to I-75 and get off before the bridge to Canada. U will see a lot of semi trucks loaded with horses going to tbe slaughter houses. The horses do suffer a horrific death. Watch some of the videos.

You need to go back to school equine Major, cause obviously you got your facts wrong. Slaughter is a cruel and inhumane process for horses. They are flight animal's and suffer a horrid cruel death. What a betrayal! You people for horse slaughter need to visit a slaughter house where horses endure this cruel and disgusting practice. Slaughter is inhumane! Period! You people make me sick who think slaughtering horses is O.K.! Have you no compassion !

Monkey see said...

And the reason for killing the horse was what? He's in the business to make money off of horses unless he get 's off on the act of killing in itself. How pathetic! Makes me sick!
