HR 6598 Bogged Down in Committee

Well the new anti-horse slaughter bill that was "supposed" to go to a vote yesterday is now being "bogged down" in committee by two of the bills greatest opponents;

(HR Bob Goodlatte, (R) Va.
http://www.house.gov/goodlatte/

Steve King, (R) Iowa
http://www.house.gov/steveking/

who are stalling a vote on the bill with proposed amendments, and it looks very much like they will succeed.

Oh well, maybe next year. The beat goes on. Meanwhile, every five minutes a horse is needlessly slaughtered.

This is so terribly depressing. I really hoped this would pass.
