U.S. Against Equine Slaughter

There are 9.2 million horses in America. The percentage of so called "un-wanted" horses going to slaughter each year is only 1% of the total number. The is NO WAY a market can be "glutted" based on 1% of its overall volume. The "excess" numbers can easily be absorbed IF only the breeders would take SELF-RESPONSIBILITY for each life they bring into the world. Horse-slaughter is an Un-necessary evil and is used ONLY by those seeking an easy, profitable way to dispose of their "Industry Cast-Offs."

NTRA Openly Opposes Horse Slaughter

But still is "OK' with owners and trainers who send their race-horses to slaughter. So ah, I am wondering, just how "opposed" to it can they be? Talk is cheap. Ask the telephone companies. They'll tell you. Talk IS cheap.
